Le jour des rois (Kings’ Day)

In November 2016, I officially started to volunteer as a French teacher for some migrants who arrived in my home town. For the majority they are from Sudan and Afghanistan. They are only men aged mainly between 18 and 40. I try to teach them French but each time I see them I try to give them the strength and energy to go on smiling to me and to the world. I encourage them to not give up the road. I want them to become “Kings”. I want them to become “Kings” because they deserve it. They told me their stories. What they have been through is like not an alive King today have experienced it. I am lucky enough to see their potential and what they are aspiring to. We have shared some French celebrations together such as Christmas preparations or a King cake. I see them as Kings. What about you?
